1At his first hearing, on 30 August 257, Cyprian confesses that he is a Christian and a bishop, refuses to name his presbyters, and is sentenced to exile at Curubis.
2After his exile Cyprian was recalled by the new proconsul, Galerius Maximus, arrested at his gardens on 13 September 258, and held overnight in an officer's house, while the brothers gathered outside.
3At his second hearing, on 14 September 258, Cyprian confirms his identity, admits that he leads the Christians, and refuses to sacrifice.
4The proconsul sentences Cyprian to death; he thanks God, prays, pays his executioner, blindfolds himself, and is beheaded on 14 September 258, and the Christians bury him by night.
