Eustathius of Antioch

Εὐστάθιος · Eustathius Antiochenus

Eustathius was an anti-Arian bishop of Antioch and an early critic of Origen's allegorical exegesis. His treatise On the Witch of Endor argues, against Origen, that the figure who appeared to Saul was not the real prophet Samuel; a few fragments of other works survive.
