Pelagius

Pelagius

Pelagius was a British-born ascetic teacher who worked in Rome from about 380 and left for Africa and Palestine after 410. His teaching on human responsibility and the sufficiency of nature aided by grace brought him into conflict with Augustine. His commentary on the letters of Paul was preserved for centuries among the works of Jerome.
