Τὰ τῆς γνώσεως τὰ μὲν ἤδη μετέχομεν, τὰ δὲ διʼ ὧν ἔχομεν βεβαίως ἐλπίζομεν· οὔτε γὰρ πᾶν κεκομίσμεθα οὔτε παντὸς ὑστεροῦμεν, ἀλλʼ οἷον »ἀρραβῶνα« τῶν αἰωνίων ἀγαθῶν καὶ τοῦ πατρῴου πλούτου προσειλήφαμεν· τὰ δὲ ἐφόδια τῆς κυριακῆς ὁδοῦ οἱ μακαρισμοὶ τοῦ κυρίου.

Of the things of knowledge, we already share in some, and others we hope for firmly through what we have; for we have neither received everything nor lack everything, but we have received as it were a “pledge” of the eternal good things and of the Father's wealth.
