Ὁ σωτὴρ ὤφθη κατιὼν τοῖς ἀγγέλοις, διὸ καὶ εὐηγγελίσαντο αὐτόν, ἀλλὰ καὶ τῷ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ τοῖς λοιποῖς δικαίοις τοῖς ἐν τῇ ἀναπαύσει οὖσιν ἐν τοῖς δεξιοῖς ὤφθη· »ἠγαλλιάσατο«, γὰρ φησίν, »ἵνα ἴδῃ τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν ἐμήν«, τὴν ἐν σαρκὶ παρουσίαν.

English · Claude translation

The Savior was seen by the angels as he descended, which is why they announced him as good news. But he was also seen by Abraham and the other righteous who are in the place of rest on the right hand; for he says, “He rejoiced that he might see my day,” that is, the coming in the flesh.
