ὁ δὲ Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς τῆς φωνῆς ἀκούσας οὐκ ἐφοβήθη, ὡς ἂν ἐν πνεύματι ἀκούσας συνήθει τῆς τοιαύτης φωνῆς· καθὸ δὲ ἄνθρωπός τίς ἐστι μόνον, ἀκούσας κατεπλάγη· διὸ καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ σωτήρ· »μηδενὶ εἴπητε ὃ εἴδετε.«

English · Claude translation

John the Baptist was not afraid when he heard the voice, since he heard it in the Spirit as one accustomed to such a voice; but anyone who is merely a man is astonished on hearing it. That is why the Savior also says to them, “Tell no one what you have seen.”
