Ἄχρι μὲν γὰρ ἦμεν τῆς θηλείας μόνης τέκνα, ὡς ἂν αἰσχρᾶς συζυγίας, ἀτελῆ καὶ νήπια καὶ ἄφρονα καὶ ἀσθενῆ καὶ ἄμορφα, οἷον ἐκτρώματα προ[σ]ενεχθέντα, τῆς γυναικὸς ἦμεν τέκνα, ὑπὸ δὲ τοῦ σωτῆρος μορφωθέντες ἀνδρὸς καὶ νυμφῶνος γεγόναμεν τέκνα.

For as long as we were children of the female only, as of a shameful union, incomplete, infants, senseless, weak, and formless, brought forth like miscarriages, we were children of the woman; but formed by the Savior, we have become children of a husband and of a bridal chamber.
