μετὰ δὲ Ἐζεκίαν ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ Μανασσῆς βασιλεύει ἔτη πεντήκοντα πέντε, ἔπειτα ὁ τούτου υἱὸς Ἀμὼς ἔτη δύο, μεθʼ ὃν Ἰωσίας ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ νομικώτατος ἔτη τριάκοντα καὶ ἕν. οὗτος ἐπέθηκε τὰ κῶλα τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τὰ κῶλα τῶν εἰδώλων, καθὼς ἐν τῷ Λευιτικῷ γέγραπται. ἐπὶ τούτου ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τὸ πάσχα ἤχθη, ἐξ οὗ † ἀπὸ Σαμουήλ, μήτε ἐν τῷ μεταξὺ χρόνῳ τελεσθέν. τότε καὶ Χελκίας ὁ ἱερεὺς τοῦ προφήτου Ἱερεμίου πατὴρ περιτυχὼν τῷ τοῦ νόμου βιβλίῳ ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ ἀποκειμένῳ ἀναγνοὺς ἐτελεύτησεν. ἐπὶ τούτου προφητεύει Ὀλδᾶ καὶ Σοφονίας καὶ Ἱερεμίας. ἐπὶ δὲ Ἱερεμίου ψευδοπροφήτης γίνεται Ἀνανίας. ὁ Ἰωσίας οὗτος παρακούσας Ἱερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου ὑπὸ Νεχαὼ βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου ἀνῃρέθη κατὰ ποταμὸν Εὐφράτην, ὁρμῶντι αὐτῷ πρὸς Ἀσσυρίους ἀπαντήσας.

After Hezekiah his son Manasseh reigned fifty-five years, then his son Amon two years, after whom Josiah his son, most faithful to the law, thirty-one years. He laid the carcasses of men on the carcasses of the idols, as is written in Leviticus. In the eighteenth year of his reign the Passover was held, which had not been celebrated since … Samuel, nor in the time between. Then too Hilkiah the priest, the father of Jeremiah the prophet, finding the book of the law laid up in the temple, read it and died. In his time Huldah, Zephaniah, and Jeremiah prophesied. In Jeremiah's time Hananiah was a false prophet. This Josiah, disobeying Jeremiah the prophet, was killed by Neco, king of Egypt, at the river Euphrates, having gone out to meet him as he marched against the Assyrians.
