ὁ Χριστὸς οὗτος ἦν. καὶ αὐτὸν ἐνδείξει “τῶν πρώτων ἀνδρῶν παρʼ ἡμίν σταυρῷ ἐπιτετἰμη- “ κότος Πιλάτου, οὐκ ἐπαύσαντο οἶ τὸ πρῶτον ἀγα- “ πήσαντες. ἐφάνη γὰρ αὐτοῖς τρίτην ἔχων ἡμέραν “πάλιν ζῶν, τῶν θείων προφητῶν ταῦτά τε καὶ ἄλλα “ μυρία περὶ αὐτοῦ θαυμάσια εἰρηκότω ’ν. εἰσέτι τε “ νῦν τῶν Χριστιανῶν ἀπὸ τοῦδε ὠνομασμένων οὐκ “ ἐπέλιπε τὸ φῦλον.’’

English · Claude translation

He was the Christ. And when Pilate, on the accusation of the leading men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those who had loved him at the first did not cease. For he appeared to them on the third day alive again, the divine prophets having foretold these and countless other wonderful things about him. And even now the tribe of Christians, named after him, has not died out.”
