τούτου δʼ ἀπόδειξις τὸ μηδένα πω τῶν πάλαι διὰ τοῦ συμβόλου κεχρισμένων, μήτε ἱερέων μήτε βαισ- λέων μήτε μὴν προφητῶν, τοσαύτην ἀρετῆς ἐνθέου δύναμιν κτήσασθαι, ὅσην ὁ σωτὴρ καὶ κύριος ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦς ὁ μόνος καὶ ἀληθινὸς Χριστὸς ἐπιδέδεικται.

The proof of this is that none of those anointed by the symbol in ancient times, whether priests or kings or prophets, ever acquired such power of divine virtue as our Saviour and Lord Jesus, the only and true Christ, has displayed.
