καὶ μετὰ βραχέα φησίν “ Ἰούδας δὲ Γαυλανίτης ἀνὴρ ἐκ πόλεως ὄνομα Γαμάλας, Σάδδοκον Φαρισαῖον προσλαβόμενος, ἠπείγετο ἐπὶ ἀποστάσει, τήν τε ἀποτίμησιν οὐδὲν ἄλλο ἢ ἄντικρυς δουλείαν ἐπιφέρειν λέγοντες, καὶ τῆς ἐλευθερίας ἐπʼ ἀντιλήψει παρακαλοῦντες τὸ ἔθνος. ”

And a little later he says: “But Judas, a Gaulonite from a city named Gamala, taking with him Saddok, a Pharisee, pressed for revolt, both saying that the assessment brought nothing but outright slavery and calling on the nation to lay hold of its freedom.”
