ὁ δʼ αὐτὸς ἐν ὀκτωγαιδεκάτῳ τῆς ἀρχαιολογίας κατὰ τὸ δωδέκατον ἔτος τῆς Τιβερίου βασιλείας (τοῦτον γὰρ τὴν καθʼ ὅλων ἀρχὴν διαδέξασθαι ἑπτὰ ἐπὶ πεντήκοντα ἔτεσι τὴν ἡγεμονίαν ἐπικρατήσαντος Αὐγοὐστου) Πόντιον Πιλᾶτον ἐπιτραπῆναι δηλοῖ τὴν ᾿Ιουδαίαν, ἐνταῦθα δὲ ἐφʼ ὅλοις ἔτεσι δέκα σχεδὸν εἶς αὐτὴν παραμεῖναι τὴν Τιβερίου τελευτήν.

English · Claude translation

The same writer, in the eighteenth book of his Antiquities, shows that in the twelfth year of the reign of Tiberius (who succeeded to the supreme rule after Augustus had held power for fifty-seven years) Pontius Pilate was entrusted with Judea, and that he remained there for ten whole years, almost until the death of Tiberius.
