καὶ νῦν οἱ μὲν οὐκ εἰσὶν, οἱ θεομισεῖς, ὅτι μηδὲ ἦσαν· εἰς βραχὺ δὲ ταράξαντες καὶ ταραχθέντες, εὖθʼ ὑποσχόντες τιμωρίαν οὐ μεμπτὴν τῇ δίκῃ, ἑαυτοὺς καὶ φίλους καὶ οἴκους ἄρδην ἀναστάτους κατέστησαν, ὡς τὰς πάλαι στήλαις ἱεραῖς καταγραφείσας προρρήσεις ἔργοις πιστὰς ὁμολογεῖσθαι, διʼ ὧν τά τε ἄλλα ὁ θεῖος ἐπαληθεύει λόγος, ἀτὰρ καὶ τάδε περὶ αὐτῶν ἀποφαινόμενος·

And now they, the God-haters, are not, as if they had never been. After causing trouble for a short time and being troubled, they paid a penalty not to be faulted by justice, and brought themselves, their friends, and their houses to utter ruin, so that the predictions inscribed long ago on sacred tablets are confessed by the facts to be trustworthy, through which the divine word proves true in other things and also declares this concerning them:
