συνεχῶς δʼ ἐφʼ ἡμέρας “ πέντε τῷ τῆς γαστρὸς ἀλγήματι διεργασθεὶς τὸν βίον “ κατέστρεψεν, ἀπὸ γενέσεως ἄγων πεντηκοστὸν ἔτος “ καὶ τέταρτον, τῆς δὲ βασιλείας ἕβδομον. τέσσαρας “ μὲν οὖν ἐπὶ Γαίου Καίσαρος ἐβασίλευσεν ἐνιαυτοὺς, “ τῆς Φιλίππου μὲν τετραρχίας εἰς τριετίαν ἄρξας, τῷ ‘τετάρτῳ δὲ καὶ τὴν Ἡρώδου προσειληφὼς, τρεῖς δʼ “ ἐπιλαβὼν τῆς Κλαυδίου Καίσαρος αὐτοκρατορίας.’

English · Claude translation

Worn out continuously for five days by the pain in his belly, he ended his life, in the fifty-fourth year of his age and the seventh of his reign. For he reigned four years under Gaius Caesar, ruling Philip's tetrarchy for three years and receiving Herod's as well in the fourth, and he held three more years of the rule of Claudius Caesar.”
