ἅτε δὴ οὖν τοιοῦτος ὢν “ ὁ Ἄνανος, νομίσας ἔχειν καιρὸν ἐπιτήδειον, διὰ τὸ “τεθνάναι μὲν Φῆστον, Ἀλβῖνον δὲ ἔτι κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν “ ὑπάρχειν, καθίζει συνέδριον κριτῶν, καὶ παραγαγὼν “ εἰς αὐτὸ τὸν ἀδελφὸν Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Χριστοῦ λεγομένου, “ Ἰάκωβος ὄνομα αὐτῷ, καί τινας ἑτέρους, ὡς παρανο- “ μησάντων κατηγορίαν ποιησάμενος παρέδωκε λευ- “ σθησομένους.

Being such a man, then, Ananus, thinking he had a suitable opportunity, since Festus was dead and Albinus was still on the road, convened a council of judges, and brought before it the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ, whose name was James, and some others; and having accused them of breaking the law, he handed them over to be stoned.
