Αὖθις δʼ ὁ Ἰώση(??) πλεῖστα ὅσα περὶ τῆς τὸ πᾶν Ἰουδαίων ἔθνος κατʼ λαβούσης διελθὼν συμφορᾶς δηλοῖ κατὰ λέξιν, ἑ πλείστοις ἄλλοις μυρίους ὅσους τῶν παρὰ Ἰουδαῖοι τετιμημένων μάστιξιν αἰκισθέντας έν αὐτῇ τῇ Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἀνασταυρωθῆναι ὑπὸ Φλώρου. τοῦτον δὲ εἷναι τῆς Ἰουδαίας ἐπίτροπον, ὁπηνίκα τὴν ἀρχὴν ἀναρριπισθῆναι τοῦ πολέμου, ἔτους δωδεκάτου τῆς Νέρωνος ἡγεμονίας, συνέβη.

Again Josephus, after relating a great many things about the calamity that overtook the whole Jewish nation, shows word for word, besides very many other things, that countless numbers of those honoured among the Jews were scourged and crucified in Jerusalem itself by Florus; that he was procurator of Judea when the war began to flare up, in the twelfth year of Nero's rule.
