συναπήχθησαν οὖν ἄμφω, φησὶ, καὶ κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν ἠξίωσεν ἀφεθῆναι αὐτῷ ὑπὸ τοῦ Ἰακώβου. ὁ δὲ ὀλίγον σκεψάμενος “εἰρήνη σοι” εἶπε, καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν. καὶ οὕτως ἀμφότεροι ὁμοῦ ἐκαρατομήθησαν.

“So they were both led away together,” he says, “and on the way he asked James to forgive him. And he, after considering a little, said, ‘Peace be with you,’ and kissed him. And so both were beheaded together.”
