Καὶ ἐπὶ τούτοις Οὐεσπασιανὸν μετὰ τὴν τἂν Ἱεροσολύμων ἅλωσιν πάντας τοὺς ἀπὸ γένους Δαβὶδ, ὡς ἂν μὴ περιλειφθείη παρὰ Ἰουδαίοις τῶν ἀπὸ τῆς βασιλικῆς φυλῆς, ἀνα ζητεῖσθαι προστάξαι, μέγιστόν τε Ἰουδαίοις αὖθις ἐν ταύτης διωγμὸν ἐπαρτηθῆναι τῆς αἰτίας.

And in addition, [Hegesippus relates] that Vespasian, after the capture of Jerusalem, ordered a search for all who were of the family of David, so that none of the royal tribe might be left among the Jews; and that for this reason a very great persecution again hung over the Jews.
