Τοῦ δʼ αὐτοῦ Δόμε τιανοῦ τοὺς ἀπὸ γένους Δαβὶδ ἀναιρεῖσθαι προστα ξαντος παλαιὸς κατέχει λόγος τῶν αἱρετικῶν τινα κατηγορῆσαι τῶν ἀπογόνων Ἰούδα, (τοῦτον δὲ ἀδελφὸν κατὰ σάρκα τοῦ σωτῆρος), ὡς ἀπὸ γένους τυγχανόντων Δαβὶδ, καὶ ὡς αὐτοῦ συγγένειαν τοῦ Χριστοῦ φερόντων. ταῦτα δὲ δηλοῖ κατὰ λέξιν ὧδέ πως λέγων ὁ Ἡγήσιππος·

When the same Domitian ordered the descendants of David to be put to death, an ancient tradition says that some of the heretics accused the descendants of Jude (he was the brother of the Saviour according to the flesh), as being of the family of David and as bearing kinship with Christ himself.
