Καὶ Μουσανοῦ δὲ, ὃν ἐν τοῖς φθάσασι κατελέξαμεν, φέρεταί τις ἐπιστρεπτικώτατος λόγος πρός τινας αὐτῷ γραφεὶς ἀδελφοὺς, ἀποκλίναντας ἐπὶ τὴν τῶν λεγομένων Ἐγκρατητῶν αἵρεσιν, ἄρτι τότε φύειν ἀρχομένην, ξένην τε καὶ φθοριμαίαν ψευδοδοξίαν εἰσάγουσαν τῷ βίῳ, ἡς παρεκτροπῆς ἀρχηγὸν καταστῆναι Τατιανὸν λόγος ἔχει·

Of Musanus too, whom we listed among those mentioned earlier, a most persuasive discourse is extant, written by him to certain brothers who had inclined to the heresy of the so-called Encratites, which was then just beginning to sprout and was introducing a strange and corrupting false doctrine into life; the account holds that Tatian was the founder of this deviation.
