ἡ δὲ Βλανδῖνα ἐπὶ ξύλου “σθεῖσα προύκειτο βορὰ τῶν εἰσβαλλομένων “ἣ καὶ διὰ τοῦ βλέπεσθαι σταυροῦ σχήματι διὰ τῆς εὐτόνου προσευχῆς πολλὴν προθυμίαν “τοῖς ἀγωνιζομένοις ἐνεποίει, βλεπόντων αὐτῶν ἑ “τῷ ἀγῶνί καὶ τοῖς ἔξωθεν ὀφθαλμοῖς διὰ τῆς τὸν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν ἐσταυρωμένον, ἔνα πείσῃ τοὺς “πιστεύοντας εἰς αὐτὸν, ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὑπὲρ τῆς Χριστοῦ “δόξης παθὼν τὴν κοινωνίαν ἀεὶ ἔχει μετὰ τοῦ ζῶν- “τος θεοῦ.

Blandina was hung on a stake and exposed as food for the beasts let loose on her. Because she was seen hanging in the form of a cross, and through her fervent prayer, she inspired great eagerness in those contending, since in the contest they saw, even with their outward eyes, in their sister the one who was crucified for them, to persuade those who believe in him that everyone who suffers for the glory of Christ has fellowship for ever with the living God.
