ἀγανακτήσαντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ἐπὶ τῷ τοὺς·‘πρότερον ἠρνημένους αὖθις ὁμολογεῖν κατεβόησαν τοῦ Ἀλεξάνδρου, ὡς ἐκείνου τοῦτο ποιοῦντος. καὶ ἐπιστήσαντος τοῦ ἡγεμόνος καὶ ἀνετάσαντος αὐτὸν ὅστις εἴη, τοῦ δὲ φήσαντος ὅτι Χριστιανὸς, ἐν ὀργῇ ‘γενόμενος κατέκρινεν αὐτὸν πρὸς θηρία, καὶ τῇ ἐπιούσῃ εἰσῆλθε μετὰ καὶ τοῦ Ἀττάλου. καὶ γὰρ καὶ τὸν Ἄτταλον τῷ ὄχλῳ χαριζόμενος ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἐξέδωκε πάλιν πρὸς θηρία.

English · Claude translation

The crowds, enraged that those who had formerly denied were confessing again, cried out against Alexander as the one responsible. The governor summoned him and asked who he was; when he said, “A Christian,” the governor in anger condemned him to the beasts, and on the next day he entered the arena together with Attalus.
