τῆς δὲ κατὰ Φρύγας καλουμένης αἱρέσεως καὶ Ἀπολλών·ιος, ἐκκλησιαστικὸς συγγραφεὺς, ἀκμαζούσης εἰσέτι τότε κατὰ τὴν Φρυγίαν ἔλεγχον ἐνστησάμενος ἴδιον κατʼ αὐτῶν πεποίηται σύγγραμμα, τὰς μὲν φερομένας αὐτῶν προφητείας ψευδεῖς οὔσας κατὰ λέξιν εὐθύνων, τὸν δὲ βίον τῶν τῆς αἱρέσεως ἀρχηγῶν ὁποῖός τις γέγονε διελέγχων. αὐτοῖς δὲ ῥήμασι περὶ τοῦ Μοντανοῦ ταῦτα λέγοντος ἄκουε

Apollonius too, an ecclesiastical writer, undertook a refutation of the so-called Phrygian heresy while it was still flourishing in Phrygia, and composed a special work against them, correcting word for word their current prophecies as false and exposing what sort of life the leaders of the heresy had led.
