Μάρτυρες δὲ καὶ τῆς περὶ ταῦτα αὐτοῦ κατορθώσεως αὐτῶν Ἑλλήνων οἱ κατʼ αὐτὸν ἠκμακότες φιλόσοφοι, ὧν ἐν συγγράμμασι πολλὴν μνήμην ηὕρομεν τοῦ ἀνδρὸς, τοτὲ μὲν αὐτῷ προσφωνούντων τοὺς ἑαυτῶν λόγους, τοτὲ δὲ ὡς διδασκάλῳ εἰς ἐπίκρισιν τοὺς ἰδίους ἀναφερόντων πόνους.
