τούτοις μεθʼ ἕτερα ἐπιφέρει λέγων “ἐν μὲν οὖν τῷ Ἀρσινοΐτῃ γενόμενος, ἔνθα, “ὡς οἶδας, πρὸ πολλοῦ τοῦτο ἐπεπόλαζε τὸ δόγμα, “ὡς καὶ σχίσματα καὶ ἀποστασίας ὅλων ἐκκλησιῶν “γεγονέναι, συγκαλέσας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ δι- “δασκάλους τῶν ἐν ταῖς κώμαις ἀδελφῶν, παρόντων “καὶ τῶν βουλομένων ἀδελφῶν, δημοσίᾳ τὴν ἐξέτα- “σιν ποιήσασθαι τοῦ λόγου προετρεψάμην.

After other things he adds: “When I was in the district of Arsinoe, where, as you know, this doctrine had long been prevalent, so that there were even schisms and apostasies of whole churches, I called together the presbyters and teachers of the brothers in the villages, the brothers who wished being present too, and urged them to make the examination of the teaching publicly.
