ἐπὶ τούτοις τὴν ὅλην τῆς Ἀποκαλύψεως βασανίσας γραφὴν, ἀδύνατον δὲ αὐτὴν κατὰ τὴν πρόχειρον ἀποδείξας νοεῖσθαι διάνοιαν, ἐπιφέρει λέγων “συν- “τελέσας δὴ πᾶσαν ὡς εἰπεῖν τὴν προφητείαν, μα- “καρίζει ὁ προφήτης τούς τε φυλάσσοντας αὐτὴν “καὶ δὴ καὶ ἑαυτόν. μακάριος γὰρ, φησὶν, ὁ τηρῶν “τοὺς λόγους τῆς προφητείας τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου, “κἀγὼ Ἰωάννης ὁ βλέπων καὶ ἀκούων ταῦτα.

After this, having examined the whole book of the Apocalypse and shown that it cannot be understood according to the obvious sense, he continues: “Having completed, so to speak, the whole prophecy, the prophet calls blessed those who keep it, and indeed himself: ‘Blessed,’ he says, ‘is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book, and I John, who saw and heard these things.’
