καθʼ οὓς τῆς Ῥωμαίων προστάντα ἐκκλησίας ἔτεσι Εὐτυχιανὸς διαδέχεται· οὐδʼ ὅλοις δὲ μησὶν οὗτος δέκα διαγενόμενος Γαΐῳ τῷ καθʼ ἡμὰς καταλείπει τὸν κλῆρον. καὶ τούτου δὲ ἀμφὶ τὰ πεντεκαίδεκα ἔτη προστάντος Μαρκελλῖνος κατέστη διάδοχος, ὃν καὶ αὐτὸν ὁ διωγμὸς κατείληφε.

in which Eutychian succeeded Felix, who had presided over the church of the Romans for five years; he lasted not even ten whole months and left the office to Gaius, of our own time. When he had presided about fifteen years, Marcellinus was appointed his successor, whom the persecution also overtook.
