καὶ ἐπʼ Ἀλεξανδρείας δὲ Μάξιμον ὀκτωκαίδεκα ἔτεσι μετὰ τὴν Διονυσίου τελευτὴν ἐπισκοπεύσαντα Θεωνᾶς διαδέχεται· καθʼ ὃν ἐπὶ τῆς Ἀλεξανδρείας ἐπὶ ταὐτὸν τῷ Πιερίῳ πρεσβυτερίου ἠξιωμένος Ἀχιλλᾶς ἐγνωρίζετο, τῆς ἱερᾶς πίστεως τὸ διδασκαλεῖον ἐγκεχειρισμένος, οὐδενὸς ἧττον σπανιώτατον φιλοσοφίας ἔργον καὶ πολιτείας εὐαγγελικῆς τρόπον γνήσιον ἐπιδεδειγμένος.

At Alexandria, when Maximus had been bishop eighteen years after the death of Dionysius, Theonas succeeded him. In his time Achillas, who had been deemed worthy of the presbyterate at Alexandria together with Pierius, was well known, having been entrusted with the school of the sacred faith, and having shown a work of philosophy second to none in rarity and a genuine manner of gospel life.
