οὕτω δʼ αὐτοῖς ἀπαραποδίστως αὐξούσης καὶ ἐπὶ μέγα ὁσημέραι προιούσης τῆς ἐξουσίας, ἀθρόως τῆς πρὸς ἡμὰς εἰρήνης μεταθέμενοι, πόλεμον ἄσπονδον ἐγείρουσιν, οὔπω δʼ αὐτοῖς τῆς τοιασδὶ κινήσεως δεύτερον ἔτος πεπλήρωτο, καί τι περὶ τὴν ὅλην ἀρχὴν νεώτερον γεγονὸς τὰ πάντα πράγματα ἀνατρέπει.

But while their power was thus growing without hindrance and advancing greatly day by day, they suddenly changed their peaceful attitude toward us and stirred up a war without truce. Yet the second year of this movement was not yet complete when something new happened in the whole government and overturned everything.
