Μυρίους μὲν γὰρ ἱστορήσαι ἄν τις θαυμαστὴν ὑπὲρ εὐσεβείας τοῦ θεοῦ τῶν ὅλων ἐνδεδειγμένους προθυμίαν, οὐκ ἐξότουπερ μόνον ὁ κατὰ πάντων ἀνεκινήθη διωγμὸς, πολὺ πρότερον δὲ, καθʼ ὃν ἔτι τὰ τῆς εἰρήνης συνεκροτεῖτο.
