Refutation of All Heresies 6.19.5
Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.
Summary: Hippolytus charges Simon's followers with promiscuity, which they call perfect love, claiming that the redeemed cannot sin.

English · Claude translation
And those who in turn have become imitators of the deceiver and magician Simon do similar things, saying irrationally that one must have intercourse indiscriminately, and saying: “All earth is earth, and it makes no difference where one sows, so long as one sows.” Indeed they even count themselves blessed for their [promiscuous] intercourse, saying that this is perfect love, and the “holy of holies … shall be sanctified”; for they are not held accountable for any supposed evil, since they have been redeemed. And having thus redeemed Helen, he provided salvation to human beings through his own knowledge.
