Refutation of All Heresies 9.10.6
Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.
Summary: Heraclitus calls mortals and immortals one, and Hippolytus reads him as speaking of a bodily resurrection caused by God.

English · Claude translation
And he says admittedly that the immortal is mortal and the mortal immortal in such words as these: “Immortals mortal, mortals immortal, living the others' death, dead in the others' life.” And he speaks also of a resurrection of this visible flesh in which we have been born, and he knows God to be the cause of this resurrection, saying thus: “To him who is there they rise up and become guardians of the living and the dead.”

Notes
Translation notes
- Heraclitus, fragments 62 and 63. Fragment 63 is corrupt and obscure; Hippolytus's reading of it as resurrection is his own.
