igitur qui innocentiam colit, Deo supplicat, qui iustitiam, Deo libat, qui fraudibus abstinet, propitiat Deum, qui hominem periculo subripit, opimam uictimam caedit. haec nostra sacrificia, haec Dei sacra sunt: sic apud nos religiosior est ille qui iustior.

So he who cultivates innocence makes supplication to God; he who cultivates justice makes libation to God; he who abstains from frauds propitiates God; he who snatches a man from danger slays the richest victim. These are our sacrifices, these are God's rites: so among us the more religious is he who is the more just.
