At ego, inquam, prolixius omnium nostrum uice gaudeo, quod etiam mihi Octauius uicerit, cum maxima iudicandi mihi inuidia detracta sit. nec tamen possum meritum eius uerborum laudibus repensare: testimonium et hominis et unius infirmum est: habet Dei munus eximium, a quo et inspiratus orauit et obtinuit adiutus.

"But I," I said, "rejoice more fully on behalf of us all, because Octavius has conquered for me too, since the very great odium of judging has been taken from me. Yet I cannot repay his merit with praises in words: the testimony of a man, and of one man, is weak; he has the excellent gift of God, inspired by whom he spoke, and helped by whom he prevailed."
