καὶ ἐπειδὴ ἐπυθόμην τινὰς μὴ καθεστώσης διανοίας τυγχάνοντας ἀνθρώπους τὸν λαὸν τῆς ἁγιωτάτης καὶ καθολικῆς ἐκκλησίας φαύλῃ τινὶ ὑπονοθεύσει βούλεσθαι διαστρέφειν, γίνωσκέ με Ἀνυλίνῳ ἀνθυπάτῳ, ἀλλὰ μὴν καὶ Πατρικίῳ τῷ οὐικαρίῳ τῶν ἐπάρχων παροῦσι τοιαύτας ἐντολὰς δεδωκέναι, ἵνʼ ἐν τοῖς λοιποῖς ἅπασι καὶ τούτου μάλιστα τὴν προσήκουσαν φροντίδα ποιήσωνται, καὶ μὴ ἀνάσχωνται περιορᾶν τοιοῦτο γινόμενον.

And since I have learned that certain persons of unsettled mind wish to turn aside the people of the most holy and catholic church by some wicked corruption, know that I have given such commands in person to Anulinus the proconsul and also to Patricius the vicar of the prefects, that among all other things they should give due attention especially to this, and should not allow such a thing to be overlooked.
