ὧν καταλέγειν τὴν ἀρετὴν καὶ τὴν ἐφʼ ἑκάστῃ βασάνῳ “ἀνδρείαν, τίς ἂν ἀρκέσειε λόγος; ἀνέσεως γὰρ οὔσης ἅπασι τοῖς βουλομένοις ἐνυβρίζειν, οἱ μὲν “ξύλοις ἔπαιον, ἕτεροι δὲ ῥάβδοις, ἄλλοι δὲ μάστιξιν, ἕτεροι δὲ πάλιν ἱμᾶσιν, ἄλλοι δὲ σχοινίοις.
