Καὶ ὅτι τὸ μνημόσυνον τοῦ Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ μετὰ τὸν τοῦ Ναυῆ υἱὸν μένει, φαίνεται· διὰ δὲ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ σταυρωθέντος, οὗ καὶ τὰ σύμβολα ἐκεῖνα προκηρύγματα ἦν τῶν κατʼ αὐτὸν ἁπάντων, ὅτι μέλλει ἐξολοθρευθήσεσθαι τὰ δαιμόνια καὶ δεδιέναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάσας τὰς ἀρχὰς καὶ τὰς βασιλείας ὁμοίως ὑφορᾶσθαι αὐτόν, καὶ ἐκ παντὸς γένους ἀνθρώπων θεοσεβεῖς καὶ εἰρηνικοὺς δείκνυσθαι εἶναι τοὺς εἰς αὐτὸν πιστεύοντας, φανερὸν ποιεῖ, καὶ τὰ προανιστορημένα ὑπʼ ἐμοῦ, Τρύφων, σημαίνουσι.

“And it is plain that the memory of Amalek remains even after the son of Nun; but through Jesus who was crucified, of whom those symbols were forecasts of all that concerns him, he makes it plain that the demons are to be destroyed and to fear his name, and that all principalities and kingdoms likewise dread him, and that those who believe in him from every race of men are shown to be God-fearing and peaceable; and the things I recounted before, Trypho, indicate this.
