Καί, πραξάντων τοῦτο, αἱ δαμάλεις, ὑπὸ μηδενὸς ὁδηγούμεναι ἀνθρώπων, οὐκ ἦλθον μὲν εἰς τὸν τόπον ὁπόθεν εἴληπτο ἡ σκηνή, ἀλλʼ εἰς χωρίον τινὸς ἀνδρὸς καλουμένου Αὐσῆ, ὁμωνύμου ἐκείνου τοῦ μετονομασθέντος τῷ Ἰησοῦ ὀνόματι, ὡς προελέλεκτο, ὃς καὶ εἰσήγαγε τὸν λαὸν εἰς τὴν γῆν καὶ κατεκληροδότησεν αὐτοῖς αὐτήν· εἰς ὃ χωρίον ἐλθοῦσαι μεμενήκασι, δεικνυμένου ὑμῖν καὶ διὰ τούτων, ὅτι τῷ τῆς δυνάμεως ὀνόματι ὡδηγήθησαν, ὡς πρότερον ὁ περιλειφθεὶς λαὸς ἀπὸ τῶν ἀπʼ Αἰγύπτου ἐξελθόντων διὰ τοῦ λαβόντος τὸ Ἰησοῦ ὄνομα, Αὐσῆ πρότερον καλουμένου, εἰς τὴν γῆν ὡδηγήθη.

“And when they did this, the heifers, guided by no man, did not go to the place from which the ark had been taken, but to the field of a certain man called Hoshea, the namesake of the one renamed with the name of Jesus, as was said before, who also brought the people into the land and distributed it to them by lot; and when they came to that field they stopped; showing you by this too that they were guided by the name of power, just as formerly the people who survived of those who came out of Egypt were guided into the land by the one who received the name Jesus, formerly called Hoshea.
