“For by ‘The Lord has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek,’ God declared with an oath, because of your unbelief, that he is high priest after the order of Melchizedek; that is, just as Melchizedek is recorded by Moses to have been a priest of the Most High, and he was priest of those in uncircumcision, and blessed Abraham, who was in circumcision and brought him tithes, so God showed that his eternal priest, who is also called Lord by the Holy Spirit, would be the priest of those in uncircumcision; and those in circumcision who approach him, that is, believe in him and seek blessings from him, he too will receive and bless. And that he will first be a humble man, and then be exalted, the end of the psalm shows: ‘He will drink from the brook by the way,’ and with it, ‘Therefore he will lift up his head.’
