Κἀγὼ ἔφην· Πρότερόν μοι συγχώρησον εἰπεῖν λόγους τινὰς ἐκ τῆς Ἡσαίου προφητείας, τοὺς εἰρημένους περὶ τῆς προελεύσεως, ἣν προελήλυθεν αὐτοῦ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τούτου Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς καὶ προφήτης γενόμενος. Κἀκεῖνος· Συγχωρῶ.
