Καὶ ὁ Τρύφων ἔφη· Αἱ γραφαὶ ἀναγκάζουσί με ὁμολογεῖν. Ὁμοίως δʼ ἀνερωτῶ σε πάλιν, ἔφην· Τὰς προσφορὰς καὶ τὰς θυσίας διʼ ἔνδειαν ὁ θεὸς ἐνετείλατο ποιεῖν τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν, ἢ διὰ τὸ σκληροκάρδιον αὐτῶν καὶ εὐχερὲς πρὸς εἰδωλολατρείαν; Καὶ τοῦτο, ἔφη, αἱ γραφαὶ ὁμοίως ἀναγκάζουσιν ὁμολογεῖν ἡμᾶς.
