Νυνὶ δὲ ἀνέγνων γάρ, ὦ Τρύφων, ὅτι ἔσοιτο καὶ τελευταῖος νόμος καὶ διαθήκη κυριωτάτη πασῶν, ἣν νῦν δέον φυλάσσειν πάντας ἀνθρώπους, ὅσοι τῆς τοῦ θεοῦ κληρονομίας ἀντιποιοῦνται. Ὁ γὰρ ἐν Χωρὴβ παλαιὸς ἤδη νόμος καὶ ὑμῶν μόνων, ὁ δὲ πάντων ἁπλῶς· νόμος δὲ κατὰ νόμου τεθεὶς τὸν πρὸ αὐτοῦ ἔπαυσε, καὶ διαθήκη μετέπειτα γενομένη τὴν προτέραν ὁμοίως ἔστησεν. Αἰώνιός τε ἡμῖν νόμος καὶ τελευταῖος ὁ Χριστὸς ἐδόθη καὶ ἡ διαθήκη πιστή, μεθʼ ἣν οὐ νόμος, οὐ πρόσταγμα, οὐκ ἐντολή.

English · Claude translation

“But now (for I have read, Trypho) there was to be a final law and a covenant more binding than all, which all men must now keep, as many as lay claim to the inheritance of God. For the law given at Horeb is now old, and belongs to you alone, but this one to all without exception. And a law set against a law has abolished the one before it, and a covenant made afterward has likewise set aside the former one. And an eternal and final law, Christ, has been given to us, and the covenant is trustworthy, after which there is no law, no ordinance, no commandment.
