Ἐβόα γὰρ πρὸ τοῦ σταυρωθῆναι· Δεῖ τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ὑπὸ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ Φαρισαίων, καὶ σταυρωθῆναι καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἀναστῆναι. Καὶ Δαυΐδ δὲ πρὸ ἡλίου καὶ σελήνης ἐκ γαστρὸς γεννηθήσεσθαι αὐτὸν κατὰ τὴν τοῦ πατρὸς βουλὴν ἐκήρυξε, καὶ θεὸν ἰσχυρὸν καὶ προσκυνητόν, Χριστὸν ὄντα, ἐδήλωσε.

“For before he was crucified he cried: ‘The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the scribes and Pharisees, and be crucified, and rise on the third day.’ And David proclaimed that he would be born from the womb before the sun and moon according to the will of the Father, and showed that, being Christ, he is God mighty and to be worshiped.
